Strawberry and Heirloom Tomato Salsa Fresca
Ingredients
- 1½ pints fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 pint heirloom cherry tomatoes, chopped
- ½ cup cilantro leaves, chopped, loosely packed
- 2-3 shallots, diced
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1-2 jalapenos, seeded, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- Juice and zest of 1 lime
- Kosher salt and fresh ground peppercorn, to taste
Instructions
- Toss all prepared ingredients in large bowl. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour. Strain liquid. Season to taste. Serve with tortilla or pita chips.
